April's Featured Artist- Mocha Blue Blaze
Mocha Blue Blaze (Shenece Scott) is a North Central Louisiana native with a truly unique artistic flair. This talented Renaissance woman is a gifted artist with words, music, and visual arts. Mocha began singing at the age of four. She discovered the power and expression of words and visual arts in grade school. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and majored in Vocal Music Education. Mocha Blue Blaze is active in her community encouraging awareness of the arts and the value of artistic expression in everyday life. This lady has performed spoken word, her original songs and displayed her visual arts across the United States from Atlanta, Georgia to San Francisco, California. Mocha has also published two editions of her poetry book ‘The World Through Ebony Eyes of Pearl’. Ms. Blaze has recorded two spoken word CD’s one also entitled ‘The World Through Ebony Eyes of Pearl’, the other entitled ‘Lip Service’. Ms. Blaze has recorded a very spirited album entitled Chocolate Rhythem. Somewhat of a gumbo of genres, this album has a jazzy favor, blues, neo-soul, pop, straight r & b and a little reggae. Most of the songs on the Chocolate Rhythem album were produced by Mr. Christian Simeon, a couple of the songs were produced by Mr. Darren Osborn, co-produced by Ms. Denise Val Spohn and one of the songs was produced by Mr. Brent Latin. Mocha is currently in the studio recording more of her original songs and poems for future CD’s.
